Term 3, Week 5 (29 July 09)
Q1)
(a) What are the 2 worrying trends about drug trafficking mentioned in the article?
(b) Why are Singaporeans increasingly being used as "drug mules"?
Answer:
(a) The first worrying trend is that teens, below 14 years old had been
arrested for trafficking, although the number of convicts were not known.
The second worrying trend is that more Singaporeans are being arrested
because of drug crimes overseas.
(b) It's all because they are less likely to be checked because of
Singapore's reputation for being tough on drugs.
Q2) What will you do if you find out that one of your friends is selling drugs?
How will you react if someone tries to sell you drugs?
Answer : I would give him advice to not continue the crime and I also
would tell the teacher if my friend continues the crime. I will just walk
away if someone sell drugs to me. And I would also report to the police.
