Q1) What are big companies doing in order to be
more socially responsible ?

Answer : Big companies like Singtel have an energy programme
that helps to reduce the business cost. It is also an opportunity
to re-invite their costumer to join their environmental efforts, such as
signing up with Singtel myBill, their paperless billing system.
Another example of a big company, is the DBS. The DBS community
initiatives are focused on helping children reach their full potential in
the area of learning.

Q2)
How important it is to be socially responsible? And do you think
it is still possible to make a social impact during the recession?

Answer : It is very important as it helps people in the country or a
community of giving some thought to the people and
helps cultivate good
habits and values. It also makes them to be someone who have the
thought for others and also be responsible for what they have done.
For example in the article, the charity walkathon do not spend a
large amount of money to organise as it was able to raise $80 000 of
social impacts towards the deaf.

Q1) What are some of the things that schools in Singapore
are doing in order to take care of the environment?

Answer : Some schools are asking their students to bring electricity
bills from home to track their month-to-month energy use and are
teaching them to save energy. Some school even stepping up themselves,
the emphasis on issues like energy conservation and climate change.
The emphasis on environment education is 'timely, given the growing
awareness of environmental issues around the world'. Some schools also
contribute fruit peels to the school's three compost bins, which convert
food waste into fertilizers. Commonwealth Secondary has its own wetland
which treats grey water from bathroom sinks. Students test how clean the
treated water is and study the wetland's plants and animals. At another
secondary school, students decided that cardboard takeaway boxes in the
canteen should be banned. Students and teachers bring their own boxes to
pack their food instead.

Q2) Do you think one person's effort in reducing, reusing
and recycling will make a difference in saving the environment?
What steps have you taken in the effort to save the earth?

Answer : No, the effort of one person for reducing, reusing and recycling
won't make any difference as while the person is recycling things and
the thousands and millions of others don't. What I've done so far is just
helping to switch off the lights and fans in class when we are not using them.
My school also had this recycling box for us to throw the things that can
be recycle. I usually throw the waste papers in the box provided.

Q1) How does the treatment programme of the
Singapore Prison Service help sex offenders?

Answer : The programme helps sex offenders to learn about
the way they think and how their actions flow from this. An
awareness of this process in supposed to help them choose
not to commit sex offences when the urge arises again.

Q2) Do you think that sex offenders should be given
a second chance in the society? State your reasons.

Answer : I do think sex offenders should deserve a second chance.
But once they misused the chance that given to them, they should
not have any other chances. I do think sex offenders deserve a
second chance as everybody in this world are perfect.
Everybody do make mistakes no matter how careful they are.
Some sex offenders do it on purpose. There must be a tragedy that
makes them to do this.
